Kaster Celebration Night at I-35 Speedway 7/22/2017 with Great Racing Action

I-35 Speedway would honor the Kaster Racing Family during Intermission with them gathering on the front straight and a trophy presented to the family by Mike and Kyle Johnson for all their work and dedication to the sport!

E-Modifieds would kick off the night of exciting racing with Matt Dorssom #3D winning both heat and feature on this night of action. Dorssom would take the lead from an outside front row starting spot and never look back claiming the victory. Current point leader Randy Smith Jr #75X would move from back to front placing second with other heat race winner Kyle Henning #1 impressing with a solid third on the night. Fourth place would see Manlee Lamer #4M with fifth going to Corey Myers #15 who would recover from an early race mishap.

Grand National would charge to the track next and see John Brown #36J and heat winner Chad Fuller #0R battle it out for the top spot. Fuller would take the point never to relinquish celebrating in McCarthy Auto Group Winners Circle holding Brown to place second. Billie Hoover #97 would work traffic to perfection placing third with point leader Donnie Brown #26 a very close fourth and Ronnie Miller #98 fifth.

Midwest Lightning Sprints would see a good field of cars with both Hall of Famers and rookies doing battle. Bobby Layne #01 would take the early lead with Tyler Miller #25M in tow for the first half the feature until Tom Brown #B20 would work his way to the front to challenge. Brown would use a high side pass to take over the lead and never look back claiming the checkers and win. Layne would go on to place second with Miller third on the night. Fourth and fifth would see father and son race to the line with heat winner Mark Billings #51 beating dad Ken Billings #85 as they would place fourth and fifth respectively.

Pure Stock would not disappoint with great racing action from start to finish for every position. Heat winner Kyle Rowland #5 and other heat winner #74 Bud Wallis would take their turn leading in the early stages until Cody King #29 would enter the picture for the front. King would work his way past Wallis to take over the top spot and go on to his third win of 2017 at I-35 Speedway. Point leader Cletus Murray #21M would be the big mover of the race finishing second with Beau Wells #555 a very close third on this night of racing action. Wallis would fade to place fourth late with Rowland a very close and fast fifth.

USRA B-Modified would see a second time winner in 2017 as Eddie Schwope Jr #91 would pick up heat and feature victories. Heat winner Tim Eaton #211 would take then lead early only to develop mechanical issue s and be forced from contention. Shadren Turner #17T would challenge Schwope late to no avail and have to settle for second with the always fast #17J of Jake Richards third. Bud Wilson #22W would end the night fourth with Josh Munsen #19X working his magic to place fifth on the night.

Sport Compact would again see racing action at I-35 Speedway and witness a new winner in victory lane. Ashley Klick #22K would win both heat and feature and park her Mustang in McCarthy Auto Group Winners Circle. John Willard #1/2cr would challenge late trying both high and low but end the night second place. Other heat winner David Miller III #55 would place third with Bobby Key #7 fourth and Steven Bunting #95 rounding out the night’s top five.

USRA Stock Car would see Dean Wray continue his winning ways parking the #77 in McCarthy Auto Group Winners Circle. Wray would work his way through traffic and out front beating second place finisher Mich Ross #34X by a car length at the line. Third would see heat race winner Blake Peeler #292 impress with a solid race with Eddie Ingram #54 placing fourth and Greg Gilbert #G23 fifth. Other heat winner was Aaron Sauter #83A.

USRA Modified would see a great battle for the front between heat winner Derrick Hicks #78 and Dennis Elliott #29 as they would swap the lead to the very end. Hicks would take the early lead only to see Elliott charge by on the outside taking the front. Hicks would not go away and continued to work the low line to perfection gaining momentum as the race progressed. With laps winding down, Hicks would work past Elliott on the inside claiming his first win of 2017 at I-35 Speedway. Elliott would place second with Chad Clancy #21C getting faster each week third. Fourth would see Sam Florence #42 with Clay Hale #22H a very close fifth.
