Woods, Stanton, Claxton, Roberts and Glenn take season finale features at I-35 Speedway!
The season has come to a close at I-35 Speedway with points champions crowned and the addition of the super six showdown races tonight was a night of celebration for ten drivers. Four drivers that won their features also won the points titles in their respective classes and four different drivers won the super six showdown.
In the sportmods it was Shay Woods racking up win number nine on the season from his p1 starting spot. Five laps in Woods bobbled out of turn two and Blake Peeler took over the lead for a bit before Woods came screaming back. Something would break on the Peeler machine and he would retire from the race. Clay Hale came home second with Anthony Asher third. Woods would also capture the super six showdown event for the sportmods over Peeler and Hale. Shay Woods is your 2010 IMCA SportMod track champion.
Eric Stanton took win number eleven back to Hartford Iowa tonight. Stanton also had the pole as the points leader and he never looked back. Greg Kuehn would come home second with Brad Whitney third. In the hobby stock super six showdown it was Kuehn over Mich Ross and Adam Reeter. Eric Stanton is your 2010 Hobby Stock track champion.
In Grand National action Gene Claxton looked like a man on a mission. Claxton battled Dean Wray for a few laps before Wray lost the left front. Travis Walker who is in a points battle with Wray finished second and Chad Clancy third. Jason Anderson captured the super six showdown over Tim Shields and Mike Taylor Jr. Dean Wray is your 2010 Grand National track champion.
Another driver to win fom his pole postion starting spot was Thomas Roberts in the stock car division. Roberts held back all challenges to pick up win number eight on the season and number 63 for his career. Kevin Anderson came home second with Gene Stigall third. Jake Cameron won the super six showdown over Brad Dittemore and Jon Boller III. Thomas Roberts is your 2010 Stock Car points champion.
Steven Glenn took full advantage of his pole starting postion to pick up win number seven of th season. Gleen and Cory Wray had o battle lap traffic for the much of the race as it went green to checker. Glenn and Wray were so fast they lapped the eighth place car. Lapped ars made it difficult for the rest of the top five to make up and ground without a caution. Wray would finish second with Steve Starmer third. Starmer won the super six showdown over Glenn and Wray. Steven Glenn your 2010 Modified track champion.
