"The Reaper" Ryan Gustin picked up his second USMTS win at I-35 Speedway tonight. Gustin started 8th in the feature and slowly picked away at the cars in front of him. After a first lap mishap the cars clicked off laps until with about 10 laps to go another yellow came out.

The first 20 laps belonged to Spring, Texas native Chris Brown. Brown started on the pole and led the first 32 of the scheduled 40 laps. Gustin moved around a lap car with 11 to go and set his sights on Brown before the caution flag came out and reset the field. Brown trying to hold Gustin off, moved off the bottom where he had ran the whole race and thats all Gustin needed to soar away and lead the final 8 laps.

Gustin (Marshalltown, IA) picked up the win, Brown (Spring, TX) finished second, Johnny Scott (Las Cruces, NM), who won the first race at I-35 Speedway in 2011 finished third, Zack VanderBeek (New Sharon, IA) was fourth and "The Wizard of Watertown" Jon Tesch (Watertown, SD) rounded off the top 5.

What are most teenagers doing at 13 years old? Worrying about school? Girls? Fighting with parents? Not Trevor Hunt! He's winning races and he did it again tonight in the USRA Ironman B-Mod series. Hunt (Liberty, Mo) picked up the lead after an early caution and never looked back. Nick Rogers (Des Moines, IA) chased Hunt the entire race but just couldn't catch up to the youngster and finished second, last weeks I-35 regular winner Doug Keller (St. Joseph, MO) finished third, Nick Newton (KCK) was fourth and "Flyin" Mike Ryun (Pleasent Valley, MO) was fifth.

Back to a regular points night at I-35 this Saturday night with the Midwest Lightning Sprints on hand. Gates open at 5:30, Hotlaps at 7:30 and racing to follow.
