I-35 Press Release 1-5-2017

The cold winter chill has not stopped the improvements at I-35 Speedway. Pit expansion is ongoing and new premium pit spots will be available for reservation at the January 21, 2017 drivers meeting. The drivers meeting will be conducted at the Cameron Community Center 915 Ashland Drive, Cameron, Missouri starting at 10:00 a.m. These new pit spots will be for large haulers only when the USRA Nationals are conducted in October. These pit spots have been created just north of the main ticket booth.

Also at the drivers meeting we will be looking for input from the Grand National drivers as we strive to open the rules and yet allow everyone to remain competitive in the class. It is never our intent to chase racers away but instead look for ways to allow everyone to fairly compete. We want to see this class grow and we are willing to allow variances provided everyone has a fair shot at winning.

Speaking of input, youth go cart drivers grab your parents and have them attend the meeting. We are planning to add youth go cart racing during intermission in 2017. What better place for our young racers to learn and compete than at the track they will eventually be racing on in the future. We know several of our adult racers have children in go cart competition. Our plan is to set up a track utilizing a part of the front straight and infield. We desire input on making this a reality for our young racers, so parents please attend the meeting.
New improvements are constantly being added at I-35 Speedway. The website is being updated, we are researching which race management program to use for 2017, and we will be scattering picnic tables throughout the racetrack grounds for everyone’s enjoyment. See all those interested on January 21 at the drivers meeting!

**Update:
In the previous press release it was stated we will run Go Karts during intermission. In reality it should read that we will allow some practice laps before or after the racing time pending for young Kart Drivers to get some track experience. We will still have our regular 10 minute intermission with normal entertainment so please make plans now to attend, sorry for any confusion we may have caused
